As expressed in its Policy on Responsible Palm Oil Production, the company is committed to transparency with stakeholders about its policies, plans, grievances, and operations. With this purpose, REPSA created its grievance mechanism, in order to receive and address concerns, grievances and suggestions regarding the company’s operations.
As part of this mechanism, REPSA put together a grievance list to summarize and report on a transparent manner how the company is addressing grievances. In July 2017, REPSA uploaded its first grievance list. However, after analyzing feedback obtained from stakeholders, the company determined that it did not adequately address stakeholder concerns and decided to remove this first draft in order to work on it and incorporate the suggestions and comments received. In the meantime, REPSA is in the process of strengthening its internal procedures to investigate and address grievances and concerns, as part of the efforts to enhance its social management system.
