At REPSA, a HAME Group company, we started on August 4 with our entrepreneurship project "Guate is your land Stay" which aims to promote entrepreneurship through training for adult women and young people from the municipality of Sayaxché, Petén. We began with training for making baskets with the participation of 15 women representatives of the following communities: La Ceiba, El Tucán, El Mirador, La Torre, El Canaleño and El Pato. Ingrid Tujab from REPSA Social Management tells us: "This aims to provide many families with job opportunities and thus avoid migration, which mainly affects families in the area. This training is aimed at young women and housewives so that by making these baskets they can sell them and contribute to the local economy; To do this, the capabilities and knowledge of this group must be strengthened." This project has the support of INTECAP and the Municipality of Sayaxché. INTECAP will be in charge of providing specialization for young women, while the Municipal Women's Directorate of the Municipality of Sayaxché will work on everything related to adult women, providing training in the making of baskets and hammocks. At REPSA we will take care of everything related to the logistics for the promotion of the project, the identification of the participants, and everything necessary to carry out the activities. This project will culminate in September, however, it will have follow-up, with replicas in October and November. The trained women are committed to forming small circles in their respective communities and sharing all the knowledge they acquired during their training. Flor María Caal, in charge of the Municipal Women's Directorate, indicated that they are working together with REPSA to benefit women from the different communities surrounding the areas of influence. At REPSA we are committed to generating shared value in all our areas of influence.
